The five massive planets in front of them were like something from a science fiction movie. In orbit around each other, they made up a giant, cosmic-sized ring that took up half the solar system. Three of them were featureless brown deserts, strewn with rocks and jagged mountain ranges, whilst the fourth was covered in a primordial black crust, under which seethed a turbulent sea of lava. The fifth and largest planet was completely smothered in thick, grey cloud that continually crackled with lightning as various storms swirled and battled for dominance above the surface.

Jack thought that they were headed for this planet until he saw a huge space station spread out before them like a spider’s web, rows and pillars of metal jutting out in all directions.

Swooping underneath its steel belly, they passed several Xenti battleships that were attached to the ends of what looked like giant metal prongs, until they flew through a dark slit in its side, coming to rest inside a cavernous hangar.
